                        <p>Written most probably in England (Salisbury).<note xml:id="ms_salisbury221_note1" n="1" place="foot">According to Miss B.
                                Smalley, in a letter of August 15, 1941.</note></p>
                        <p>Was still in Salisbury Cathedral in the middle of the 17th century (<ref
                                type="biblio" cRef="Ker1964">Ker, p. 97</ref>) but consequently
                            passed over to the Bodeleian Library. Note from Dr. B. C.
                            Barker-Benfield (Senior Assistant Librarian, Bodleian Library) of 3
                            March 2009: "... I must point out is that the Bodleian does not own the
                            three-volume 12th-century set of Saints' Lives formerly shelfmarked MSS.
                            Fell 3, 1 and 4. In 1985 all three volumes were returned permanently to
                            Salisbury Cathedral Library, where they are shelfmarked MSS. 221, 222
